Plogging? Green Running? Does it matter?

The 2018 Green Running season is just around the corner!  The weather is warming up and trash is sitting outside in our communities, just waiting to be cleaned up. With the latest fitness trend of "plogging" in Sweden, our movement has gotten some hot press!  Who knew that our little Green Running group in Des Moines, Iowa would beat this trend by 7 years?!  Here's a challenge for you: instead of seeing trash as trash, see it as an opportunity to burn calories.  Walk, run, or plog, it doesn't matter what you call it as long as you're up and moving, cleaning up all the trash in your path!

The word "trend" implies an eventual end. Seven years ago when we created this group, we wanted to ensure that our group would not die out, but in fact, grow.  We have collected so many bags of trash, it'd be impossible to count.  We have successfully organized over 65 of these Green Runs around the Des Moines metro and we see no end in sight.  Other empowered individuals such as Cassie Smith and Gerardo Rios have started Green Running groups in their respective communities. We have proven not to be a fitness trend, but rather a fitness and environmental movement on a mission.

If you would like to join in the fun and keep your community clean and safe, get in touch with us! We can't wait to help you get started!  Plogging?  Green Running?  Who cares!  Get moving!!
